Frequently Asked Questions

In which languages do you offer coaching?

I offer sessions in German (native speaker), English, and Dutch.

How much does a session cost?

What is relationship coaching? How is it different from couples therapy?

Relationship coaching focuses on the present and the future.
It helps couples understand their patterns, improve communication, and make conscious decisions about how they want to relate to each other.

My work is structured, reflective, and practical. We look at how you interact, where things get stuck, and what alternatives are available — and then practice them.

Couples therapy, on the other hand, is led by licensed therapists and focuses on mental health, trauma, addiction, or clinical diagnoses. It often places stronger emphasis on the past.

I do not diagnose, treat mental illness, or work with trauma-related conditions.
My role is to guide reflection, clarify dynamics, and support change. Coaches are experts and facilitators of processes.

My partner does not want to come - can I do this by myself?

Yes. You can start on your own.

While working together as a couple is often helpful, meaningful change can begin with one person. Reflecting on communication, boundaries, and decision patterns will influence the relationship either way.

If your partner isn’t ready yet, we can still work productively.

Which specific problems can you help us with?

I work with couples who want to understand what’s happening beneath recurring tension — and change it.

For example, I support couples in:

Impartiality is essential in my work.

I don’t take sides — I focus on the dynamics between you. My role is to make patterns visible, not to assign blame.

Am I committed to work with you after our first call?

What is your professional background?

I’m Wiebke Anton, PhD in Political Science (LMU Munich), certified relationship coach and mediator.

My work is informed by research-based approaches, including advanced training with the Gottman Institute, and regular professional supervision.

I combine academic depth with practical, real-world experience.
